We’re modernizing the SSHR storage facility in Velká Bučina – coming back to life with new technology

We are modernizing the technological equipment of a 17,000-ton steel silo at the Velká Bučina facility for the Administration of State Material Reserves (SSHR).

In 2025, PAWLICA s.r.o. continues to deliver major projects across the Czech Republic.
Current contracts include the completion of construction works at farms in Vřesovice and Kyselovice, as well as the comprehensive modernization of technological equipment for a 17,000-ton steel silo at the Velká Bučina facility for the Administration of State Material Reserves (SSHR).

The modernization began in the autumn of 2024 and is divided into several phases. The initial stage involved the complete dismantling of the original technology, followed by the installation of new systems starting in February 2025, which will significantly enhance the facility's efficiency and operational safety.

The new technology includes:

  • Skandia conveyors – redlers and bucket elevators for gentle and efficient material handling
  • GEBR. RUBERG RVS 80 screen cleaners with aspiration and integrated filter units
  • JESMA flow scale for precise and continuous weighing
  • ZANIN dust-free outlets ensuring clean and efficient dispatch
  • Compressor station with accessories and compressed air distribution system
  • Aeration and ventilation system for silos, including dust extraction for conveying lines and storage bins with filter units
  • HRD system (High Rate Discharge) for maximum safety and explosion protection

Project partners:

  • Metrostav DIZ s.r.o. is the general contractor of the entire project, responsible for overall project management, construction works, and steel structure modifications.
  • PAWLICA s.r.o. acts as a subcontractor for the technological part, focusing on the replacement and installation of new equipment.
  • INELSEV s.r.o. provides all electrical installations and the measurement and control (MaR) system as a subcontractor to Metrostav DIZ.
  • Construction works and steel structure adjustments are also carried out by Metrostav DIZ.

Thanks to this comprehensive modernization, AgroZZN, a.s., the operator of the Velká Bučina facility, will process commodities using the new technology from the 2025 harvest season onward. This upgrade will bring significant improvements in both technological efficiency and operational conditions for the upcoming years.
